yeah i was talking about the advance version.

Well, cool, now the only choice is whether to get it on DS, or PS2 =)

heh, i remember when FFVI had the smiling duck dialog boxes.....it would be funny if they had something extra like that.   different chocobo's or whatever.

For the PS2 do you mean Anthologies?  Good luck finding that for a decent price and also it doesn't have the new dungeons, espers, translations, or fixed evade (I think they fixed evade for the FFVI Advance).

Yeah, FFAnthologies.

FFIV seems like everybody's favorite Final Fantasy.

FFIV was good, but it's one of those games that didn't stand the test of time too well. I like it purely for nostalgic purposes (was my first FF-- went back and played FFI later after playing II) because the story doesn't do much for you, it's very linear, and it just doesn't move you the same way VI. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, just I would be surprised if you played that and said "this is it?"

And as I said, Anthologies isn't easy to find for a good price being that it's a PS1 title and a very good very sought after PS1 title. You might get lucky and find it used some place like Movie Trading Company (if you have places like those nera you) but I wouldn't count it.

Holy crap, apparantly I'm wrong.

-edit #2-
Whhops, I forgot that  Anthologies had FFV and FFVI while Chronicles had FFIV and Chrono Trigger.

Nope. Just look at the sales. FF VII is the most popular FF ever.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Personally, I would pick up FFVI Advance since FFV is really a waste (not bad, just not worth missing out on the features of FFVI Adavnace) and pick up FF Chronicles for FFIV and Chrono Trigger.

Most popular, yes, best, no (my opinion though :-p).  FFVII was the first 3D one and really brought people into the genre.  It wasn't bad, just the characters, story, and villain didn't compare to the ones in VI.

I have a question should i buy FFVI advance?

Help me out guys :D

If you want to play it soon then yes, if you can wait a while I'm sure there will be a remake for the DS in the coming years some time.

Yeah I'm with ckmlb, if you can't wait get it now, if you are a bit more patient I'm sure a remake is comming.

FFVI is my favorite (and imo the best) FF game of all time. I really love these retrospectives. Yeah, if you haven't played Chrono Trigger (I kinda wish they would include it in this retrospective) it's my favorite RPG of all time. FFIV is the second best FF, followed by FFIX btw.

Most sales != most favorite.  Just because more people bought FFVII doesn't mean they all liked it better than other FF games.

I think IV and V are the best in the series, as they both offer compelling gameplay and story all the way through the game, whereas VI fails to be compelling during the entire second half, until the last dungeon.  It has a good beginning, but I could only make myself play through the World of Ruin once; every other time I've picked up the game, I end up putting it down as soon as I pass the halfway point.

Yeah, FFVI is the best for me too, you said it was linear, and that can only be said about the first half of the game, in the second half, you can do whatever you want, you can even try to beat kefka with 4 allies.

An i love this retrospectives, i loved the zelda one, but i dont know why, but i think they're going to put too much attention to FFVII because it was the most popular (and not even close to the best imo).
