Forums - Sales Discussion - How well do you think Final Fantasy Dissidia will do?

To me the game looks a winner, so much fan service in one game is going to be gobbled up by FF fans. In Japan alone I see 1 million TLD sales, I hear the bundles are already sold out.

It should sell at least a million, maybe two.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I heard its initial shipment will be 500k and SE plans to ship 1 million by the end of this fiscal year. So 1 million LTD in Japan sounds about right.

500k seems low to me, crisis core sold that amunt first week a year ago and assume this one has more hype.

My prediction would be a bit more than Crisis Core. It will reach 2m copies worldwide, 1m being in Japan. I don´t think it would sell lower than that, but it could very well pull a Monster Hunter in Japan and if it really is first-class quality and gets reviews over 90+ then western sales would get slightly boosted.

According to Duckroll at Neogaf the bundles are all sold out so this oe should do very well.

I think that it will sell well, but remember PSP has massive copyright issues....
I say around 1.5-2 million WW.

Only time will tell, also interesting to see WKC releases a week later. I wonder is that will effect WKC sales or vice versa, both are from the Playstation family after all.

It's being sold in every convenience store in Japan, so it's expected to be a big hit.  Only the big ones do that.  Resident Evil Degeneration is being sold at convience stores as well - both DVD and Blu-ray.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
