You missed Sonic and the Secret Rings. I know the game got quite a lot mediocre reviews, but it's my third favorite game on the Wii so far, TP #1, RE4 #2. For a 3D Sonic game it has surprisingly few bugs and the gameplay is faster than in any other 3D Sonic. It takes less than 2:15 to beat the real final boss of the game though. Sorry, can't stop with the bragging lately. |
Yeah I liked SSR, but you'll notice the only released 3rd party games I added had a 75% or above (green) ranking on gamerankings. It's not that I dislike the game (I would personally give it an 8), but in a discussion about quality I figured I would be better off using the more concrete views of reviewers. I left out other games I like as well. DBZ:BT2 and consequently it's sequel were left out because they didn't quite make that 75% cut off.
Hawk, I'm adding SWK.

No actualy that isn't the problem dear killzone3, my problem is that you so far haven't explained what in the articel you thought was good. I read the articel and comment on it above. I personally think that it is strange that he jumps from Wii is only selling crap to Crap games isn't selling and so on.
I also thinks that he has a strange view on the game he is pointing out, I also belive that he is wrong about the sales for RE4, so far I have not seen you answer those claims of mine. Of course neither I belive that you will because honestly you and Hus often make hit and run raids. I have no problem with saying that so far the 3rd party support for Wii is crap, the reason why I have no problem with this is that I belive that is the case. BUT I do think the articel is crap because it is written in a way that first argument for that Nintendo should ban bad games, last time they put restrictions on 3rd parties PS1 beated the crap out of everyone becuase 3rd party rather supported PS1. Then it argument that Wii owners doesn't buy those crappy games, OMG what a supprise. Then it claims that the RE4 sales was bad when it in reality is close to the shippment target for Capcom.
After that it goes back to argument that again Nintendo has to make the 3rd party stop published crappy games and that someone has to do something about it. I mean if the Wii owners isn't buying the games who the f--k cares what the publisher sents out?
Now this is the second time I comment the articel so far I have just seen YOU back in this thread when some of us started to ask why this articel was so great. Can you please point out, please qoute if you can, what pieces of the articel you think is a good read and we can mayby have an argument about the articel, something that is very hard to do if you don't enter the thread except when we call you troll.

This article is very much on the biased side. I mean, calling Excite Truck "terrible" is a crime, and I'd actually say that reviewers have been deliberately harsh on Wii games. Now that's not to say Wii has the overall best line up, because it doesn't. 360 does by a long way. But.. if you ask me, tons of high-selling games that appeal to the Wii's audience can never be a bad thing, and there are many quality core games out.
Definately enough for any normal human to be satisfied with. The people writing these articles need to reailse not everyone spends every hour of every day playing games like them. In fact, the Wii's audience is on the extreme opposite end of that.

I think we all agree that the third party support for the Wii has been lackluster thus far, Sinha. The question is whether this will continue, and I think there is ample reason to believe it will not. |
Woah. When did this change of heart happen? You've been telling me all along about how it's just that my tastes don't like Wii 3rd party games whenever I pointed out that most 3rd party Wii games have been low quality cash ins. Yet now you call the same lineup lackluster...
Also, there is a reason for the 360 having the most 3rd party exclusives: 1 year on the market alone. As of right now, there are almost no new big 3rd party games that are being announced that aren't also going to the PS3. The reason why the Wii has the most exclusive 3rd party games? Cheapness.
It's cheap to make Wii games and this has resulted in a flood of ports, cash ins and low budget games. The fact is a lot of the games being released on the Wii now could not be released on the 360 or PS3 because they just seem so budget in comparison that they would probably do horribly even with the low budgets.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

It's still TECHNICALLY slated for a 2008 release, but we haven't heard anything in a long time and it's pending a publisher and financial backing. May just end up being one of those incredible games that never makes it.

Bumping this list since it has been updated a lot and lost in the flood of posts.

Of course it will have nothing to do with the fact that 3rd parties got caught with their pants down when Wii became the fastest selling console of all time. Crappy games will inevitabely be the fastest to market as they have such small dev times. Your cheapness argument stretches to games of any budget. Whether it be FFXIII, Halo3 or a crappy port of a last gen game, they'd all be significantly cheaper to make for Wii.
