Long story as short as I can. I sold my "core" and bought an "Arcade" so I would have an HDMI output port so I could drive my rear projector... I got the arcade about 2 weeks ago, brought it home, opened it up and the DVD drive was obviously out of balance as it vibrated enough that the console rattled. It was WAY too loud. It was not a Jasper as it was a 175w power supply model and was pretty good at pumping out the heat. I took it back today and picked up a replacement unit that had a 10/29/08 manufacture date. I brought it home, opened the box, and it has a 150w power supply. Jasper confirmed.
It is quieter for sure and MUCH less heat is coming from the back of the unit.
Yay. I have the newest hardware.
Now if this one breaks, I'm done with MS. Games sold. Console gone. Microsoft Banned from my house. These two consoles were number 6 and 7. Number 5 worked like champ but I sold it since it did not have HDMI.
I hate trolls.
