Total SW sales:  ~ 20M

Average SW weekly: 5M

47 weeks ending 28th November 2008

Total SW sales: 405M

Average SW weekly: 8.6M

I checked, the difference is bigger for 2007.

Hardware:

4 weeks ending 25th January: 6.5M

Average weekly: 1.63M

47 weeks ending 28th November 2008: 79.4M

Average weekly: 1.68M

So for hardware, January is almost exactly as big as the rest of the year. No real difference.

For software, January is a fair amount smaller than the rest of the year, simply because people have relatively lately been buying a lot of SW, and doesn't feel like buying a lot more.

I really hope I am misunderstanding what you say, because otherwise you have no point whatsoever.

PS: When you have data, write what the data is for. Otherwise, it makes no sense to anyone but you, and we cannot disprove your data.

I think LBP deservds at least 2 million & R2 deserves at least 1.25 million sold

 So Sonys 2 great titles for this holiday might sell less untill the end of the year than Gears of war2 has sold right now.

I still remember all the fanboys claiming PS3 would have the far better lineup this holiday and the software sales would proof it.^^

Well LBP will hit 1 million next week and Resistance 2 hopefully it will do a million soon enough.

If i had a PS3, i would buy Uncharted, LBP, and Ratchet and Clank, i couldn't care less about Resistance 1 nor 2.

 Actually, I think the question would be "who are you talking to" (referring to you, that it).

i think that LBP will do fine over its life time, i hope over 2.5 million. Resistance 2, i am not so sure, the multiplayer is great, but the single player experience is that best mediocre for a very hyped PS3 exclusive. many people will skip R2 for killzone which come out feb next year, hope its good.

They deserve how they are doing now
