Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft less hardcore in 2009

http://gamer.blorge.com/2008/12/04/microsoft-less-hardcore-xbox-360-games-in-2009/

I liked 360 because of the hardcore games not the wii-like crap.... the wii is killing the industry for every hardcore gamer ........

o well at least ps3 seems not to be heading this route^^

Man I hate whining blog posters..

One persons opinion that is one sided....

Lame.

Just look at his other blog posts,  like how the 360 Arcade is a scam and one big money pit.

As if MS has stopped selling the other models, and only sells the Arcade.

Did you even read the article?

It basically took the Shane Kim (ie: "Microsoft rep") interview about potential tough times for the industry and speculated on something with no basis at all to back it up. I've seen forum topics here with more substance than that...

Then it goes on to talk about old news about Alan Wake resurfacing....

A terrible blog article and site to begin with.

Completed X360:
High Def Movie Collection

Rumor often time leads to fact.

1. Sony is number 1 in the ps2 days and microsoft copies everything sony has beat them. (ff series, tekken, etc.)

2. nintendo is number 1 now. So my guess is they are going copy everything they do with casual games. (controller, banjo, Lips, avatar)

get my drift?

let me state somethings

1st i should of put a "?" in the title. (Microsoft less hardcore in 2009?)

2nd my thoughts in the OP were only vaild IF this was true. (when i said causal games IE the Wii is killing th industry for hardcore gamers.)

3rd this is an opinion i agree with. i do think the whole industry is going casual and me as a hardcore gamer does not like it.

So i hardly think i am wrong. i think your wrong if you dont think M$ will copy nintendo 100%. thats just my guess knowing M$ past.

Microsoft was pretty damn smart this gen... first while the price was high they pushed the hardcore factor since casual players need casual prices... now that they have reached that point they can sell the casual aspects... I always said the arcade model is a great idea... well now that it comes with some storage for save games it is... very smart strategy... but I don´t see them losing the hardcore gamers... with GeoW2 and Fable 2 their flagship titles this season where very hardcore... with Halo: ADD, Halo Wars and probably Mas Effect 2 comming next year I don´t see them dropping the hardcore ball... but if you want good sales you need to ge the Guitar Hero and Singstar people aboard too... now that they have the lowest price they can wage a war on two diffrerent sectors... as long as they don´t attack russia in the wintertime or start a land war in asia they will do great...

As long as for every Resistance 2 Sony releases, MS releases Gears 2 to coutner with...they can go casual as much as they want.

@ disolitude
Exactly what I said in another thread. If they keep the hardcore games coming, how does releasing some casual games hurt it? As long as they can do both, why not?
