Forums - General Discussion - 75% of Americans Approve of Obama's Cabinet Picks

Do 75% of Americans even know anybody he's picked outside of Hillary?

I've got no problems with his picks myself. Just everytime i see the "%" of americans poll i think of all those polls where like 50% of British people think Winston Churchill was fictional and 70% of Americans can't find Iraq on a map.

Also... will "Hillary Clinton or Bill?"

Did Bill Clinton get a cabinent post too and i didn't hear?  Or was that just a bit of backdoor sexism?

Could definitely be sexism, or it could be that some people secretly want Bill to secretly pull all the strings and bring us back to the 90's when everything was better.  It's hard to compare it to a similar case, because no males have been appointed to a cabinet with wives that were ex-presidents yet.  But yeah, people need to stop bringing up Bill unless they're talking about his global initiative or his historical pickle quotes.

I don't think even Bill Clinton takes Bill Clinton seriously anymore.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I am very happy with Obama's decisions thus far.
I also read that he will not be raising taxes on the rich for a while. He knows that will hurt the economy - smart man.
