Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sonic Unleashed IGN Reviews

So I saw that Sonic Unleashed got a 4.5 on the 360.  Since this is the second Sonic game on the 360 to get a low score from them.. should I avoid the 360 version and save myself from a Sonic 06-ish experience or should I try it to be able to say I did.

Or a third option, I could get the Wii version which a 7.2?

Darn reviews..

Any chance you can rent them? Seems like the safest route for any Sonic game these days.

I've had a bad experience renting a Sonic game. The last time I rented a Sonic game, it was too damaged for my console to read.

ya, go for the wii version

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

That sucks, but shouldn't you get a credit from whoever you rented that from?

Go for the Wii version, seems to be the best version out there (at least, that's what all the reviews say).

IGN is full of shyte.
Sonic unleashed is a good game. easily 7.5 out of 10 even if you dont like Sonic.

I played both Wii and 360. I will finish the 360 version sometime this week and have the Wii one rented. You really can't go wrong with either.

They are pretty much the same except the visuals aren't as good and the town adventure parts are text based. If you hve HDTV i suggest go with 360.

It controls a bit more intuitevly on the Wii but I personally still preffer the 360 version due to visuals. When Sonic is firing on all cyclinders and running fast, its one of the better looking games ever made. Gameplay is really tight too...you die a lot but because you suck or because game is challenging...not cause you can't handle or control sonic properly.

Werehog levels have fun platforming parts too and are not all bad.

Again fuck you IGN. Did sega cut their advertising on their site or something? Every sega next gen game in recent memory IGN reviews with a 4. Some deserve it(like Irnoman) but Hulk, Golden Axe and Sonic definetly dont.

I'm not a graphics whore and use a SDTV for gaming.  I'll check out the Wii version because NXE has given all my 360 games loading screens when they otherwise wouldn't have them and I have a 20 GB so 6.5 GB installs aren't ideal.

Maybe I'll buy the Wii version.

I love that phrase.

Also, Valkyria Chronicles scored very well at IGN IIRC (above a 4 if nothing else).
