You have to create an account in Aeria and then receive an invitation for the beta for that account (you can still signup for one). Then it'll let you login

Ugh I am thinking of buying an new pc especially for this game X_X;

Never mind, it wasn't letting me use a name even though the "can't use this name" message never came up. So I just decided to try another name and it worked.

Now an new question. If I join a channel and my friend is in another, can I go to his channel later?

Yes, you can change channels on the fly by using the system tab during the game
