There are many ways to look at this, so you should be clearer.

1. Maybe you are asking which game will be bundled with it's own strategy guide.

2. Maybe you are asking which game will be an RPG that takes place in suburbia and is light hearted in nature, but with quick witted humor.

3. Maybe you are asking which game will be the quintessential cult status title of this generation.

I suppose you mean the latter, since you mentioned Little Big Planet, but I honestly think it'll sell far too much to be considered to have cult status. Maybe Braid could be it.

That one.

Ok. So I stand by my statement that LBP will sell far too much to warrant a longing cult status. Plus it's had too much marketing put behind it. Here are some choices I see being realistic thus far:

No More Heroes
Braid
MadWorld
Brutal Legend

I'm drawing a blank after these. Maybe i'll think of more later.

Don't forget Zack and Wiki

I didn't forget it. I don't think Zack and Wiki will last the test of time.

Well MadWorld hasn't been realeased so I dont know how you can include it. As for Zack and Wiki I believe it to be above No More Heroes as it does more for its genre then NMH.

It's impossible to guage what will or won't become a cult status title before it's happened. I'm simply giving guesses. I used games from developers with proven history to create cult classics, with Braid simply thrown in for good measure.

Brutal Legend=Pyschonauts
MadWorld=Okami or Viewtiful Joe
No More Heroes=Killer 7

I think in five-ten years Zack and Wiki will have gained no following to speak of. I think my choices will. There's no need to argue it, because there is nothing here but opinions, so might as well just drop it.

No one is arguing. lol But you are right these are merely our opinions. And in my opinion Z&W will be more of a cult classic then NMH. It has sold more units afterall.

Unless you live in Japan, isn't it impossible to tell?

Nope I imported mother 3 from japan and beat it with the walktrough/translation on gamefaq. Its now stands in my top 3 video game ever. In fact, every gamer that respect himself should do the same.
Mother 3 is a fantastic metaphor and critic of today society and that why I think it is even superior yo earthbound.

Not exactly.

Note: that's not a TEH WAREZ link. There are no ROMs or links to ROM sites on that site. Just a patch.

What I mean is how are we going to tell if it's cult status or not without sales? Is there a way to track those that are playing this game with the patch? If not enough people get to play it outsdie of Japan, then it won't be able to gather a following like Earthbound did.
