WHsmith and Currys si no big deal trust me. I would take a massive bet that those 2 stores probably only account for 10% of the sales here combined.
The big places are Game, Gamestation, HMV, and then probably the Supermarkets. After that small sellers for games are Dixon, PC World, Currys, and the like.

It's not my fault that ALL these games didn't light up the european charts and had terrible NPDs.

have you even tried it ? the water looks and interacts amazing and the graphics are great in most of the game (though admitted they aren't so good in some places)
It has nothing to do with that, launching same as cod = bad idea.
