They seemed to go on for a long time and I don't think it was because of the high demand for christmas.

I really hope they don't suffer the same shortages in early 09, that would kill any momentum could have early next year.

I think the shortage was from one of the factory that produce xbox closed down.

Yeah. I believe one of the manufacturers stopped producing 360's. That would have really screwed with supply lines.
