I used to prefer street fighter but it has been going downhill. SF4 looks good though but it isn't out yet so I can't judge.

Soul Calibur is my fav series as things stand

Nah, there were two games - Killer Instinct and Killer Instinct 2, the latter of which was released on the N64 as Killer Instinct Gold (my personal favorite fighting game of all time).
