Forums - Gaming - Left 4 Dead is out, next project Half-life episode 3?

If we are to believe the boys of Split-Screen, there may be an announcement next month about Half Life 2: Episode 3. Now Left 4 Dead is released, Valve has been given time to work on another game. From an interview a month ago it shows that developer Doug Lombardi said that there may be an announcement of Half Life 2: Episode 3 at the end of this year. When it was asked about a possible announcement of the game, Lombardi replied positively:

"We may at the very end of the year."
We have one month to go, so there is certainly enough time. But what is Episode 3 then? Many people say that it is about the Borealis, a ship with can cause a new Black Mesa incident. Half Life 2 previously contained a chapter with the Borealis in the lead, but was removed just before the release. At the E3 this year there was still a piece of artwork displayed of Borealis.
And a interesting comment (CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!):
It forms of Aperture Science (known of Portal). Black Mesa and Aperture Science were both involved in the development and manipulation of the portals and search for alternative dimensions. In Black Mesa, however, it went wrong and gave them a portal to another world. If you've played Portal, then you know that the Aperture Science was a lot better in terms of development.
Incidentally they made Shepard (from Oppossing Force) also use a portal gun. Although the game was an extension and not made by Valve, Newell has stated that Shepard still will have a role to play in the HL universe.
Hurray! really looking forward to episode 3.
