16 Reasons Why PC Gaming is Better than Console Gaming

Combined, they are easily the top pick for games that require skill, speed, management or accuracy. Both have been in constant evolution to adapt for more accessability and funcionality.

2. PC is the perfect setpiece for your living room
The coming of HDTVs provides the perfect reason for any PC user to move their PCs into the living room. By doing so, you can enjoy your movies, MP3s, games and still do your homework in comfort.

3. PCs are more reliable than Consoles
PC manufacturers have historically made resiliant PCs and components. Consoles, on the other hand, always have some bad apples every now and then. This generation, we are looking at Xbox 360's abominable RROD catastrophe.

4. PCs are becoming less and less needy of upgrades
Due to the fact that PC hardware is moving up much faster than games needs, the amount of upgrades done will be far less than ever before. There are already several PCs won't ever need to upgrade for the entirety of a console generation.

5. PC gaming is cheaper
the greatest thing about PC gaming is that it is the cheapest home gaming system available. You'll sae hundreds of dollars from the thousnds of $20-$50 games that are just much cheaper than it's console counterparts. Add the high value of subscriptions, and the Free-2-Play games that should entertain you for atleast a bit.

Capcom and Squre-Enix have chosen PC as THE system to make games since it provides the easiness and cheap development that ensures a healthier business.
Indie gaming is flying on PC since it's cheap and big enough for the small developers to make a profit without the need to pay big checks to console manufacturers.

7. PC has always the best games lineup every year
Being the only system that has thousands of games coming out for it every year, it possesses the biggest amount of great games and surprising titles. Far more than any console.

15. Best online experience
The best online is on PC. Digital Distribution has come and is showing strength with services like Steam. There's also several applications strictly for gamers like Xfire that makes gamers enjoy more of their experience. Also, higher player count, more and better servers, etc...

16. Versatility
If you don't like to play with Mouse + Keyboard then you're not forced to use them. You're able to chose from the hundreds of gamepads compatible for PC. If some setting is making your game go slower, no problem, just change a bit and you're good to go.
If your game isn't good enough, then you can try some mods, maybe it will help.

Without going through your list, I'm generally with you. Although I play more on consoles/handhelds these days, I still like PC gaming a bit more (preference depends on which platform someone started gaming). BUT: I love to have the best of both worlds.

Just trying to make a bit of difference. *goes off to fight some windmills*

1. Opinion - Personally, I prefer controllers and even after playing something like MP3 and RE4, I prefer the Wii Remote and Nunchuck to mouse and keyboard.
2. That's great for when you want to do any sort of media but a giant pain in the ass when you want to do real work.  The couch works wonderful for gaming, not so great for concentrating on a paper or any type of work.
3. So you've never had a PC blue screen, crap out, hard drive crash, get a virus, or any number of other things happen than can easily happen to a PC?  Comparing the reliability of the PC to only the 360's made in the first year or so is what we like to call cherry picking.

5. Again, depending on what you do.  I would bet that if you built a PC for less than $250 you wouldn't find many new games that you could or would want to play on it.  Oh, that's right, you forgot to mention that games run and look like shit on those $250 computers...
6. Proof?  Everyone develops on the PC but when was the last time SE and Capcom made a PC game?  FFXI (one that was made for the PS2 first)?

Auto-patching?  Consoles have always done that.  Digital distribution?  PSN, VC, Arcade, WW, and the PSP.  Lack of a need to upgrade?  It's the PC.  To say the PC is easier is just a giant lie and I would call that borderline trolling.  To play a console game you just pop it in the console and go.  It just works.  To play a game on the PC, you have to first make sure your PC can run it, then you have to fiddle with the settings to make sure it runs as well as possible, and then you can play.

12. Again, cherry picking.  You're counting things like WoW where people regularly have more than one account, games like Counterstrike: Source where people haven't bought a new game in 10 years, and the hardcore Solitaire players that call themselves gamers.

Honestly, don´t you have anything better than defending your PC with a passion? You posted this as a reaction to the other thread. Don´t get so passionate about it, it´s so frustrating to see that nearly any of your posts have always something pro PC and/or against consoles. Honestly you´re no different from console fanboys.

I love PC gaming.....I love Console gaming. Both are awesome. Is one better than the other, (IMO) No. I will just leave it at that.

Console War veterans dont care about PC.

PC only serves as a means to give 360 games like Mass Effect and Left 4 Dead.

The only reason Capcom and S-E are using PCs is because it makes making console games a lot easier and it is also a lot cheaper than developing directly from a console.
