Yeah, I own and play both consoles as well.

I have sat down an analyzed the differences myself, and really for me, they are close, but XBOX wins a slight edge because LIVE. LIVE is hands down the best online gaming service between the 3 consoles this generation.

I was thinking of trying one of those hacks that show you how to convert your PS3 controller to an XBOX 360 compatible controller... I think the 360 analog sticks are too stiff for me. I like the "feel" of the 360 controller, I just hate the stiffness of the analog sticks (although I do like the fact the 360 analog sticks are convexed and shorter).

I hope the new PSN Home service is better.

Which brings me to another question for some of you. For those of you have tested the 'Beta' Home out, did they change the interface of the PSN too? What exactly are the new features of Home?

I think that the PS3 ananlog are too loose. I have the dualshock 3 and I still think its a bit too loose. I played my friends sixaxis and oh my god its unplayable.

when it comes to online chatting LIVE is better. However, when you are actually playing games, PSN is the better service IMO. That being said, they are pretty much the same, its a matter of personal preference.

One thing also about PSN I would like is if a message actually came up that someone has sent an invite for you. I was playing Fifa 09 and wanted my friend to send me an invite, to my shock he had sent 10 of them but I was waiting for a message to pop-up (Lol) and only then I noticed the message on the main menu.

I think it just depends on the game for me...

On the RainbowSix franchise, very precise aiming is always required, so I am much better with the 360 controller.  But on my favorite franchise, COD, quick non-stop movement is required and the Sixaxis/DS3 are better for me because I move and shoot enemies much faster.  The only annoying point of the Sixaxis is the trigger.  I hate the top trigger... I have a habit of pulling the R2 and getting myself killed.

I found the ps3 to be waaaayyy easier to deal with when it came to connecting to a network, and finding files on other devices on the network. It was terribly difficult to get video's to stream well from the 360, but the first time the ps3 was hooked up, it saw all the shared files on my network and streamed everything fine, it was so awesome.

Yeah connecting online is much more easier on the PS3 than the 360. On the PS3 it connected without any hasstle however on the 360 I had to actually mess around with my modem to make it connect.

I got one of the random invites that they've been sendin out like crazy. So far, no PSN/XMB updates. I didn't expect any, but I still think both need updating. Home does have massive  potential, but my issue is that some of the features it has should already be accessible from the XMB. Home doesn't exacly start up very fast. I'm a little worried that we'll have to load it up everytime just to do something that should've already been on the XMB in the first place. It seems that more people are viewing it as a "game" rather than PS3's online service. In a way, it kinda feels that way at the moment - I heard that closed-beta testers have access to the "important" features. What I'm hoping for is something that'll make PS3's online gaming easier and more convenient. From what I saw, not all games support "Game Launching". I really hope that changes in the final release. It can be a really great tool for socializing though that's not looking too well yet - I think it was inevitable that with all the stripped features and content, you'll often end up finding people that are just bored.
