Forums - Sony - See Sony's motion controller in action...

noticeable lag between movement and visualization, so still not sophisticated enough for my taste, but a step in the same direction Nintendo went (so it must be the right direction lol)

I'll have a closer look at motion controls next gen, when it might get to what I think it should be like.

I think I like it! In terms of tracking its an obvious improvement over Wii Motion + so they aren't trailing the competition.

Unfortunately its destined to fail as MakingMusic476 posted the article.

improvement over Wii M+? we haven’t seen allot of it so we don’t know how good it is but from impressions it tracks every movement you do.

I don't know if you have already seen it but there is a interesting demonstartion of Wii Motion Plus

The Wii doesn't look like it tracks movement as accurately, even with Motion +. But to be honest this copying is stupid, I think there are some obvious flaws with the Wiimote style interface and just copying Nintendo is replicating those flaws. They really should look to design something which either incorperates the strengths of the old with the Mote or create something which is new and combines the strengths of both, for example Sony have been working on a control interface for the whole hand.

Do you really want to start that fight? Once it starts, I don't know if it can be stopped.

Err you're just adversarial and silly if you think that way. I was talking about both interfaces as there are better alternatives for human interaction. The next step really is to kill the abstraction between the player and the result on screen, 3d is one possible way to do it by letting you visually interact with the game without having to interpret your inputs.

Tease.

lol, what can Wii haters say now??

Ps3 fans prefer to sit and push buttons and not swinging this all around like crazy?
gaming are moments of relax for ps3 fanboys, so why to release this??

is sony trying to attract the casuals as well? not like the have a lot of other choices!

lol, i know i'm just.....

Yeah it's the level of motion tracking that would actually be epic.. imagine a starwars game where any movement you make, your lightsaber swings like that XD .. no more fixed movement.. no more knowing the right buttons.. it's all about real movement :p.. epic win.

EDIT: i hope that it wont be a replacement of the regular controller though :P because i love to chill when playing games too :p

Check out my game about moles ^

Nah, nah, I was actually making a joke about the expectations one has for people who tend to argue about the use of the Wii control style versus that of the standard controller, since "weaknesses" tends to be interpreted as "weaknesses in comparison to something else".

I don't want to fight. Nothing further from my mind.

Funny how PS fans like the remote when it's for their system >.> What an about face from what they normally say about the Wii's.

Agree'd, but that's not the point of this thread now is it? Your post is just categorizing most of the Sony fanatics that have posted here.^_^

What I see here is a man using a Wiimote with a different button layout. The thing is mighty impressive compared to the Wiimote. I am happy if this should end up being used as a mainstream controller because it would mean more games would be designed with motion sensing in mind, meaning waggle would eventually move out of the way for intuitive controlling of games played... If motions sensing becomes the standard.

To me that is a good thing. Forcing developers to think outside of just the button presses, not saying button presses are bad, just that gameplay is better, and that motion sensing opens up another door to vent gameplay, but button presses should never been abandoned or forgotten.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

hm...I think Wii-motion plus is more accurate somehow

but i would like to use the Ps3 again using motion-controls as i only buy movies instead of games for the PS3!
