Forums - Sony - So Sony won't have netflix, big deal - sony doesn't need netflix anyway

The reasons Sony could perhaps use Netflix are the same reasons why they probably don't have a factory to manufacture toilet paper for their HQ's bathrooms.

Netflix already has the infrastructure to distribute movies in place, whereas Sony would probably have to invest money into it.

oh yeah, the hassle free pc/ps3 combo

Who has the 360... who is connected to the internet using broadband... and doesn't have a PC....

thats not what this is about, everyone is raving about netflix, now i appreciate that through "certain other" methods you have acess to it too, good for you, but this was another thread trying to de-rail somthing thats popular

Youd have a point if not almost everyone who wants to watch netflix from downloading it off the internet didnt already have a pc. So how is it a hassle if I already have the means?

As i said , enjoy your ps3/pc combo, enjoy turning on this and then that and then the other and so on and so forth

Exactly why your fist post in the thread was ironic...

Glad to see ps3 fans will get to enjoy their ps3 movie experience thru other means, as per dallas.

Who's hating now?

I've never hidden my hatred towards sony and i never will.

But this isn't about Sony, it's about being able to Stream Netflix to a console "Other than 360".

Why? because its suppose to be 360 only? I usually have my Pc and tv on at the same time... again no hassle...

It would be nice if the movie system came to Europe though - but I think Sony's system is better anyway

Oh man, I realize this is an opinion .... but wow it is wrong.  I think one of the biggest mistakes Sony made was not signing a deal with Netflix.  I dont play that many games on my 360, but it is seeing increased usage as a Netflix player.  Its smooth, great quality, and only 8 dollars a month for unlimited movies.  Other than a bigger library, what more could you ask for?

I don't really care about the argument (I'ave had Netflix long before NXE so yay) but I should just mention that before NXE the watch instantly feature was just a giant waste of time for the vast majority of people.

Most people can't or don't want to bother hooking their PC or laptop to their TV because it is in fact a hassle.  You could still use Watch Instantly on your PC or laptop which was cool if you're on a trip (I've used that a few times) but otherwise it was pretty worthless.

So arguing that people who already have a PC then the NXE thing isn't anything special isn't really right.
