I'm going to say play the demo of Valkyria Chronicles first. It's a much different type of RPG than a traditional turn-based one. I thought the game was really fun but my girlfriend didn't like it at all. About the only games she plays are RPG's and a few random shooters here & there. It's a unique experience which I enjoy but could see why others would not.
