Forums - Microsoft - NXE making the 360 less stable?

On Saturday I updated to the NXE.  After the update an cool movie, I continued play Eternal Sonata.  I played for about 5 hours when all of a sudden the game just froze up. (It happened when I was entering a battle phase)  It locked up so bad I had to walk over to the 360 and power it down and turn it back on.  In all my time playing the 360 before the update, this had never happened. (it hass been extreamly stable for me)  But then about an hour later it happened again.  It didn't happen again the rest of the night, but this is the first time I have ever had a problem with the 360.

Has anyone else noticed a similar problem after the NXE update?

ive had that happen to my 360 prior to the update. i also had it happen when i was on a ps3 yesterday...so maybe the NXE has super powers and can destroy any competitors that it is near O_O.

make sure your disk is cleaned....
or it could be dying.....
or maybe just likes to freeze up...

Do you have a launch 360? Freezing is a precusor to RRoD. I had mine free a few times thought nothing of it until it powered back on with the RRoD.

I have not heard anything about problems with the NXE update. My friend actually clams his is running better since the update.

I have not had any problems since NXE. No freezing, no HDMI sound issues. I think this is a coincidence. This happened to me before a RROD.

I have had games freeze before the NXE on my 360. Sometimes it just happens, it happens on my PC, its happened on my Wii, no biggie. Do I think it is an issue with the NXE......no, I wouldnt worry too much. Just follow the suggestions stated by MrBubbles above, and I wish you the best.

I have an issue with LIPS. Don't know if it is NXE related or not.
single player is perfect.
but the game skips in co-op. it's annoying.
I hope it is a NXE problem and MS wil fix it.

If it becomes a reoccurring thing then you might be on the first stages to hardware failure. It could just be a fluke who knows. Hard to tell if it's only done it the one time.

I've been lucky in that I haven't had that many problems with freezing. My first 360 froze a few times right before I got the RROD. The other 2 have never frozen on me. My PS3 has froze a few times while playing Blu-ray movies (never games). I don't think my Wii froze at all in the 8 months I had it.
