So your point is? That Lost Odyssey, FFVII, FVIII, FFIX had all 3 or 4 discs. The games sold amazing. So swapping discs is a negative thing lately?
Research yourself before judging quickly, obviously you was flaming you have a PS3 avatar.
3-4 360 DVDs costs more to produce then 1 Blu-Ray disc. This is the only issue. The more DVDs you use the more expensive it becomes. (I think I heard this mentioned somewhere by some Developer, sorry no source but it's sound thinking). So this would mean less profit for SquEnix or more expense for the customer.
Hmm, pie.
@The Fury
"So this would mean less profit for Square Enix"
My response----> They have Microsoft.lol
"More expense for the customer"
My response----> Lost Odyssey had 4 discs cost $60, same can be said for FFXIII if it releases on 4 discs.
Oh no, we'll have to get off our couch every 10 hours.
As for the "less profit for Square-Enix" they shouldn't be terribly worried. I'm pretty sure the 360 version's sales will still cover the cost of the port and pressing the DVDs ;)

I thought discs costed like 50 cent to produce, and BD cost a doller 50c. I don't this being any huge difference in pricing even if I am slightly wrong. Maybe like 16 dollar instead of 17 dollar profit for SE, but nothing really major (of course 1/17 is big, but not huge).

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS
Is this thread going to turn into a why we should buy x game on x console because the materials used to produce x disc is slightly more expensive hense we get more bang for your money?

Not to sure of the figures myself but yeah it's not much but a difference. And whether or not it's only a dollar, it's still true. :P
@xlost7
Yes, M$ have probably already subsidised any loss they would have made releasing the game on the 360. And yes, games have to cost $60 or so no matter the amount of discs to compete.
Hmm, pie.
Well it is uo to you if u prefer installation for 20 minutes and the lost of 5GB HDD-space or switching discs 3 times for 45seconds, without losing space on the HDD.
That is odd, BluRay offers so much space, but developers are just not able to use this as advantage. So the PS3 won't have an advantage due to BluRay. Like in every other multi-plat game before. Blue Dragon comes on 6discs i guess, Infinite Undiscovery on two, Lost Odyssey on four.
the greatest game ever, shenmue I/II, came on 7 discs and it did not affect gameplay in any way.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
I am expecting it to ship on 3 discs. And I think PS3 version will include japanese voices, it is not that big of a deal if PS3 version will and 360 will not - most people dont care, only hardcore fans care. So I see no reason why they wouldnt include jp voices in the PS3 version.
And I dont think it will have a lot of CGI cutscenes, the idea behind Crystal Tools is what it can show a near-CGI quality ingame cutscenes, what has been demonstrated @ E3 2006 when people couldnt see a differense between ingame parts and CGI parts of the trailer.
