Since the release of the X360, companies have been pushing their online-content. The stuff that's available for download becomes more and more competable with that of retailers, but now it's getting even crazier! Companies are holding content back on purpose when they release the game, to put it online a few weeks later for an xx price and advertise it with the slogan 'get the full experience, get the DLC' or something in that trend! I honestly think this is ridiculous!
To name a few examples of games that are going to get (or already got) DLC that the consumer has to pay for:
Burnout Paradise. Call of Duty 4 (the 4 extra online maps for 10$). GTA4 DLC (probably 25$), Bioshock (10$) but also themes for LittleBigPlanet, Halo 3 Recon to name a few.
In my opinion, 60$ for a game is more then enough to retain all the content that the developer has ready for the game! Not throwing something out 2 weeks after release and say; 'Hey, you buy our extra DLC for another 10$... We already finished that stuff before the game was released and could have put it in our game, but we want you to pay ANOTHER 10$, just to scam you people!'... And a lot of people actually do it! I understand. Because they want that 'full experience'. But this is just another way of exploiting the consumer when games already are WAY more expensive then they should be!
It's a great thing! Getting stuff of of your PSN or Xbox Live accounts! But this is only the begining of the payed DLC and extra content! And in most cases I don't think that's fair!
Whats your opinion?!
