Waaaaay better.. 16bit support.. HDR support.. GIMP only has 8-bit support..

Have you played with Krita on Linux at all, NiKKoM? I think it's more intuitive than the GIMP and Cinepaint. It's like an open-source version of Fractal Painter (now Corel Painter).

@Strategyking92: If you need an imaging tool for less than 30 days, Paint Shop Pro is available in a trial version. It's a free download from http://www.corel.com/. You could think of it as an alternative to Photoshop, but it's morel like Photoshop rethought in my opinion. I've been using it since version 3 and I think it's the best image manipulation tool out there. Ideally there'd be an open-source clone of it I could point you to, but alas, no :(.
