David Jaffe’s new game coming 2010

psbeyond writes:

David Jaffe, best known for his work on the God of War and Twisted Metal series, has been pretty quiet as of late - well, in terms of new games, at least. Since starting his new studio, Eat Sleep Play, Jaffe’s been off the radar, with nothing huge since 2006’s God of War II.

Seems like hes finally getting back into action, however. On Jaffe’s blog, he recently mentioned that he was going to Sony to talk about “the new game”. While he wouldn’t talk specifically about when gamers could expect to see it, he did mention 2010 as a guesstimate.

Sounds interesting. wonder what it'll be?

does Sony own the publishing rights to his company?

@disoltude. that i am unaware of.

ESP signed a 3 game deal with Sony I believe

Wouldn't it make more sense for Jaffe to develop for the 360?  Game development is about money, after all.

So it's no longer 2009. Figured that would happen.

This should be Twisted Metal ps3.

Jaffe remains very friendly with Sony.  His new studio is second party, and he primarily left so he could have a bit more freedom to work on creative PSN titles and such.

Don't you think MS would pick up the tab?  Third party is the way to make money this generation.  That or 360 development -- that's where the games sell.

@ThebigfatJ, Actuall NA Sells 360 games sell more EU/Japan PS3 games sell more (Well as a general rule anyway)
