Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Guitar Hero World Tour + Rock Band 2 Compatibility Questions

Okay, So I don't have rock band 1, and I'm considering buying rock band 2 (game only), and I have already seen proof that the Guitar Hero World Tour Drum kit and Guitars work with RB2 (although I'm not sure about the Touch-pad/solo-button Compatibility). I got GHIII on my Wii, but I've gotten a 360 since then, and my siblings and I have voted and it turns out we're getting the GHWT Band Kit for XBOX 360, so... New periphs...

X360 GHWT Drums on RB:

I am going to get the GHWT Band kit, and buy the RB2 Game-ONLY. Will renting RB1 from my blockbuster/ borrow it from my cousins and paying the license work out? I read something about a confirmation code... What code is there? Is it on the disc? Manual? Case? On all videos I have seen there is no code. Did it get changed?

Also, When playing with the GHWT Guitar, do the touch pads double as the solo buttons in Rock Band? I'm already going to get it, just nice to know...

Last question, do the Solo buttons work at all with GH:WT? My bro prefers the RB axe to the GH axe for some reason, but we might not buy it... depends on how important being able to do touch-stuff is.

Anyway, thanks in advance

Pretty sure you can rent the game and then pay the license fees. I do not know anything about the compatibility issues though.

So you've done it already, and there's no code?

Yeah, I have all the RB1 songs on my hard drive. I do not recall anything that would leave me to believe that you would need to have bought the game. There is an auto update for the game that unlocks a menu selection to place the songs on your hard drive and then you pay for the fees.

Hm...  No password... so... I can get all of the RB1 disc songs for $5... (I get a free game rental from blockbuster every 3 weeks or borrow it from my cousins) AWESOME...

Well... One question down... 2 to go...

Um... I saw that... I didn't see anything on that page involving the touch pad/solo button compatibility...

Sorry, the answer to that is no they don't. The touch pad does absolutely nothing when used in Rock Band 1/2. I thought I remember that being addressed in the article but maybe not. :)

Ok... so I'm guessing the RB Buttons don't do anything in GHWT?
