Forums - General Discussion - Why Are Sausages Round?

I know this sounds a bit silly of a question.

Thing is I was doing myself a sandwich earlier and frying the sausages was a major hassle as usual.

I mean you put them on they curl up.

Then you turn them and they wont stay on the side you want to cook.

You then try propping one against the other but that doesn,t work.

Eventually you cut them in half and hey presto hassle over.

I mean why not just make them square.

Because it's far cheaper and easier to make them round.

Plus, that's the shape that the sheep's intestine naturally is.

Sounds nice samuel.

That's what the casing around the sausage what keeps it together is made of.

So what about the skinless ones.

I'm sure they just mash some brain into it, or something. They can't help but to add gross ingredients.

But you still have to love them lol.

Actually, I'm a vegetarian, lol.

So that you can swallow all the meaty goodness faster

I mean we have incisor teeth for a reason , and its not for soft fruit

If you cook on low heat and alternate which sausage you hold against the pan with the metal spatula, they won't curl. Gotta flip em fast though.
