I don't disagree that they weren't a threat. But when Obama actually takes office, and if/when he starts pissing people off, the threats will become much more significant. You'll see more organization, more planning, more funding. More threat.
The chances he'll actually be assassinated are pretty stinking slim, but it's still awfully high chances compared to previous presidents.

I think you are overestimating how organized racist people are. And people who aren't racist would have no more reason to assasinate Obama than Clinton. I agree that Obama's chance of being assasinated is higher than normal, but you're acting like little assasination camps will spring up and that rich businessmen will be there to fund it, not to mention once a plan like this gets larger than a few people odds are somebody is going to spill the beans.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
I know for a fact that you're terribly underestimating the level of organization in racist groups.
Go read up on the KKK and the Neo-Nazis, and all their various sub-groups. There are some significantly wealthy people involved in each organization, and considering they're called organizations, it's obvious that they're organized to a significant degree.

no, whats unhealthy is the african-american prospect. OMFG its retarded. I had like 15 african american women and girls all jumping up and down about obama and his wife in the tabloids. I know its great to have the first person of your race in the white house but does anyone know if he will be a good president? no. |
You must be really clueless if you cannot understand their reaction.
Do we know if anyone will be a good president before they take office?? I guarantee he'll be better than the ass-clown we've had for the last 8 years.

Obama is now immortal? I think you are grossly overestimating his abilities.
EDIT: Dammit, beaten to the punch...

Oh, I understand the reaction of being proud to have the first african american in office. Its just the fact they seem to believe he is the political jesus. I doubt he will be half the president Clinton was but it is yet to be seen. He might turn out to be the new Nixon. Who knows. I have my doubts but positive things do happen.
As for your Bush comment, I hope you do not believe the financial crisis which started back in early 60s is his fault. Really it is weird that we have a financial crash in the first place as war = more manufacturing = more jobs = more spend. For some reason the more manufacturing part hasnt happened which doesnt make any sense.
Bush might not have been the best president but frankly we have had worse or more useless or less entertaining.
