Forums - General - OBAMA WILL DIE

I myself find it annoying that no one researches before opening their mouths. I hate Obama but thats because of his views and how he says he will handle things. Frankly though half of it wont pass unless the democrats in the senate are complete idiots or at least doesnt force extra rules onto bills that warrant them.

I have noticed an unhealthy fascination with the prospects of president-elect Obama being assassinated-especially amongst teens. I do not foresee an assassination. The two aforementioned would-be assassinations were not a serious threat.

This country is still so very focused on race.

Basically nearly all of America is still race-oriented.

Obama got so many votes due to the color of his skin. And McCain also got so many votes due to the color of his skin.

True equality will never exist in America. We still recognize people for their outer differences. Whether we make these differences seem brave, better, worse, evil, horrible, nice, or good it seems like there will never be equality in America.

I thought the north was very "open minded" though?

For the most part, but people are more likely to get their asses beaten for being racist than for being homophobes. Trust me the second someone lets on they are racist everyone in the vicinity wants to punch them. Someone displays homophobia and they might get a couple of dirty looks at worst.

no, whats unhealthy is the african-american prospect. OMFG its retarded. I had like 15 african american women and girls all jumping up and down about obama and his wife in the tabloids. I know its great to have the first person of your race in the white house but does anyone know if he will be a good president? no.

A small town is a small town no matter what part of the country you are in.  And rednecks are rednecks no matter what party of the country you are in.  Hell, New York has a lot of rednecks outside of the urban areas.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Two aforementioned assassination attempts... before he's even become president yet. He hasn't even taken office, and he hasn't had the time to actually offend anybody yet. I entirely believe there will be many more attempts, particularly if he starts pushing legislation that offends the racists.

Of course, I'm confident that Obama is aware of this, and I'm certain he will take that into consideration during his administration.

I understand why African-Americans are excited. It was only forty years ago that the nation experienced "bloody Sunday" and the Selma marches. Now, an African-American has been elected president.

Those two clowns were not even close to a threat. I would guess, and this is simply a guess, that the story was sensationalized simply because Obama was African-American and it was attention grabbing.

People who would assassinate Obama because he is black probably do not keep up with ANY candidates social policies or what kind of legislation they are advocating. They may have some general idea of what each candidate stands for, but I guarantee they have never looked at Obama's voting record.
