........ Or so says everybody at my school. "Everybody from the south says Obama is gonna get assassinated, what's up with that?"

 

And I hear this reply: "Because somebody from the south is gonna do it"

Eh, this distuirbs me, but I also secretly know it to be true if it does happen. I mean, 2 skinheads were arrested because they planned to kill 200-something black people and Obama himself. Those 2 men were from my state. Don't get me wrong, I love my state, I believe it's the best in the entire country, at least where I live. But the ignorance of some people when they blindly say: "Obama is going to fix everything very soon!" Or: "Osama got elected, we're all screwed!" Really gets under my skin.

Can anybody relate to this?

He needs to be very careful about how he does things. Most of his platform has already been very controversial, and controversy = people pissed off. He's got some pretty liberal stances on things, but he's going to need to be far more conservative than normal or else he's going to be risking his life.

Racists, who are already pissed off, getting even more pissed off, is a recipe for disaster.

 

This is part of why I've not been too concerned about what's going to happen this next presidency. Obama can't do much, or else he's going to have a ton of attacks on his life, and eventually, one is bound to work.

Precisely what I say. But from a racist's viewpoint, any black = all black. This is why America is calling him the "first black president" - that viewpoint is still deeply ingrained in our culture. Even people who aren't racist still adhere to that thought process.
