Forums - Microsoft - So, what exactly, is the problem with Banjo Kazooie Nuts n Bolts?

I downloaded the demo yesterday and have played through most of it.  My daughter has done the same and now both of us want to buy it.

I keep seeing posts about it not being a platformer and is some kind of racing game.  Am I not playing the same game?  Apparently these people are either smoking crack, haven't played the demo, or both.  The game is a platformer through and through -- at least after playing the demo.  Yes, vehicles are part of the deal, but you regularly have to depart the vehicle, collect stuff, and build new ones for specific purposes.  For those that keep saying it isn't a platformer, what the hell do you think it is?  It is not an action/adventure.  It is not an RPG.  It is not a shooter.  It is most certainly not a racing game as so many nutjobs are calling it.  Perhaps it is a platformer -- just a unique twist on the platform concept -- yeah, that's the ticket.

The graphics are very solid -- not quite ratchet and clank -- but great none the less.  The sound quality in DD5.1 is GREAT.

The bottom line is that BK NB is a very neat game and worth of a purchase especially given the price tag.  I'll be picking it up today (NEW) as I want to support the developer's efforts (yes, I know Rare is a microsoft-owned property).

When is the game released?

so kn is still alive ;))

Time to Work !

I agree with you...some people are just giving the game a hard time...

It's up against Little Big Planet and it isn't as good. But I can't get onto the PSN anymore because of connection issues, so I probably will download the BK demo...well I would if it wouldn't take 6 hours to do so on my 512k internet connection, and I'm too addicted to post election political commentary and squables on various message boards to have my internet hooked up to Live that long. I wish I could tear myself away from such things...at least long enough to brush my teeth and get some exercise.

That's a lie. That "confrontation" exists only in the minds of forum goers.

The games aren't even in the same genre, one focuses on the multiplayer experience the other focuses on the single player experience, one lets you customize how you play the game while the other lets you customize the environment where gameplay happens. Etc, Etc.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

I second this. When i`ve found out that LBP is only 3 hours long in singleplayer,I said LoL. What happens if you don`t connect to the internet or don`t want multiplayer? "I gues this game is not for you" they said.

Banjo 3 is a fun and long game, both single and multiplayer. The world is very big, many things to do and many vehicles to bild (to help you on your way). Play how you want to is for me,and the multiplayer is fun also.

It`s a love/hate thing. You like the game or not. Try it out(rent it) and see if you like it. I will buy it day 1 because I like it.

Ya know it might be a good game... but it's not my Banjo. Being a huge fan of the first 2 I expected a legit new entry and I didn't get that. And I'm sure it's great that Rare took it a new direction but not my direction. I will pick it up but I'll buy it used to show my not support for it haha. And I might play it and its a great game but not because it's a great Banjo Kazooie game. And yes I am going to be stubborn like that about it.

The problem is that it looks like it'll be focused on racing what everyone expecting was a plataformer
