Okay, on Tuesday morning I was playing Fallout 3, and my 360 froze while attempting to enter the door on the Lincoln memorial. I can only remember my 360 freezing a handful of times in the 10 months I've owned it. No big deal, I thought, pressed the power button off and then back on, re-loading the game. My 360 froze again while tying to enter the Lincoln memorial. Repeated the process and it froze yet again at the same place. The 4th time turning on my 360 resulted in 1 red light and a screen that showed "E74 System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support." Looking it up online the E74 error is a problem with either the A/V cable or GPU. My A/V cables were fine and after disconnecting and reconnecting my 360 the E74 screen reappeared. I finally turned off my 360 and let it sit a half hour. Turned it back on and it's worked fine the past 3 days.
Has anyone had the E74 error? Supposedly it can be a precursor to RRoD. Unlike the RRoD, E74 error is only covered by MS for one year. Should I be worried? Every time I turn it on, I expect it to crap out on me. I don't really want an MS refurbished system, but if it comes to that I might just keep the HDD, sell the system and buy a new arcade for $199.
BTW My 360 is a Falcon.
