Forums - Microsoft - Game launches £200, 60Gb Gears 2 bundle with two controllers

Nice deal.

Microsoft’s press released the Gears 2 launch with a reminder that UK retailer Game’s releasing a bundle with the title today.

The pack costs £199.99 and comes with the game, a 60Gb 360 and an extra controller. You can’t really say fairer than that.

Neil Martin from Game said, “We’ve seen some incredible excitement around the launch of Gears of War 2 for months now and are delighted to finally enable fans to get their hands on the game.

“Last night’s midnight launch saw dedicated fans queuing up to get their copies. We’re absolutely sure that they won’t be disappointed with what’s set to be one of the must-have games this Christmas.”

Awesome.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

I think GoW2 will move hardware. It is bundled in more than 10 countries in Europe, including UK, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria. So it will sell crazy.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I saw in the paper that GAME are also doing the same bundle (60bg extra controller ect) but the other bundle also includes Gears of war 1, and i'm sure its the same price.

Gears of war 2 is really been pushed hard here in the UK, i bought mine first thing this morning from HMV and there were tonnes of copies of the game ready to be snapped up, I also saw a fairly big poster for Gears 2 in the window of a Currys store (they're like dixons, comet ect, big electronic retailers)

And the newspapers today and yesterday were flooded with Gears 2 special offers from everyone selling it (Tescos, Morrisons, Woolworths, HMV ect)

I also beleive Gears will move hardware, especially with all the console bundle deals going around.

this is what the nintendo preident meant when price drops kind of screw over the customer. I bought my 360 last year, 20gb with a game and extra controller and it cost more then £200, probably closer to £300... and the game i got it with was nowhere near as good as gears of war 2!

... its annoying because now I wish that I had waited for this package! its a good deal for anyone without a 360 though, it should definantly move some units!

I still can't understand why Sony bundles games on its own and it seems that in the UK retailers bundle a lot with the 360 on their own. Or is this a MS bundle?

Yeah but a year of gaming on the 360 was probably worth the difference in cost, was it not? I bought my 360 in January and have no regrets.

Awesome bundle, awesome game!

It is a nice bundle alright especially with the 60g drive.

Price drops only screw the corporation pockets, that's why Iwata is against it.

I suggest you never buy any electronic product, they always go down in price. Quick, sell the computer you are browsing this forum with before it losses even more value!
