Forums - Sony - +70 new GT5 screanshots.

It seems like they indeed pushed the amount of polygons rather then the textures. Understandable there the current gen consoles are low on memory.

But i liked to see more realism in de details. Cars don't look like this, they have mud and an infinity of small little scratches that light up under sunlight. It seems like this is more a cell shaded version.

But very nice indeed, but not enough for a worldwide OMG feeling.

Around the Network

I take it they havent quite got around to the rear view yet?

Or does that mirror reflect back to the 1980's?

Theres no penaltys in most racing, mostly viewd as accidnet or an error.

There are plenty of penalties in racing, they have a black flag for it. If you're acting in an unsportsmanlike manner, they will flag you down and make you enter the pits and stop for a certain length of time. If you see two black flags during a race, you're out.

I dont know what you watch, but at the top they hardly pull of things that gets them punished.

pull of some bs and the whole team suffers, it pisses of the sponsors and hurts the drivers future in the sport.

Look this really is just to reduce unrealistic driving when I play online. Without car damage, someone can slam into me if they follow me into a turn, ram me into the wall, then drive off cause I cushioned their turn.

Often times aggressive, ramming tactics works. Hell in NFS I never took a turn at the proper speed, why do that when you can bounce off the car in front of you, not that NFS had any decent physics mind you. I just want people to drive like how they should drive (virtually no contact). If they drive in a manner that would surely destroy their car in reality, why shouldn't they be penalized in the simulation?

Look I am not saying I want Polyphony to spend another year working on a damage model for this iteration of GT (tho I hope by GT7 we have some damage modeling ^_^).  I just want some penalty for unrealistic driving.  After all it is still the most realistic racer out there, but please don't reward people for ramming.

I found some better shots, most are about twice the size and you can really tell a difference if you zoom in.

I also found some PGR4 shots to see the difference, but the shots for GT:HD still look better, so we may have to wait for better shots.
