Duh, I freakin know that if you blow up an image, it ruins it. I assumed that the site above was posting a "thumbnail" of a larger image and the "blow up" of it was not a blow up but showing it actual size. That is, in fact, what is happening. If you click the blow up and then save the image, open it in a browser and click the magnifying glass it gets bigger still and the image is then very, very clean and nicely detailed. I've answered my own question. Something about the scaler they used on that site distorts the image. I take back my "color me unimpressed". The images are great when they are shown properly.

==> add realistic weather and damage penality (too many crash reduce ur speed because ur car is broken) = perfect.


and yes the rear is pretty ugly, I agree.

And no the second picture is NOT "crappy lighting". I even ask myself if the second picture is really in-game ...

Yeah, I don't get why anybody was annoyed about the possible lack of damage, as racing is a non contact sport anyway. If they do though, they definately need to refine it from GT4 (in the rally races), as it was pretty awful. I mean if the AI car hit you, you might get a menalty, but the AI car NEVER got any penalties. Also, if you hit something with the front of your car, it was ~90% chance you'd get a penalty. hit something with the back half: ~10%. So definately in need of some refinement.

Yeah racing is a non contact sport... Just like basketball right? But when there is contact, there should be a penalty...

 Theres no penaltys in most racing, mostly viewd as accidnet or an error.

There are plenty of penalties in racing, they have a black flag for it.  If you're acting in an unsportsmanlike manner, they will flag you down and make you enter the pits and stop for a certain length of time.  If you see two black flags during a race, you're out.

 I dont know what you watch, but at the top they hardly pull of things that gets them punished. 

pull of some bs and the whole team suffers, it pisses of the sponsors and hurts the drivers future in the sport.

Those are the best graphics I've ever seen in a videogame.

Those that are nitpicking a pixel need to get a life.

Edit:  Oh, and I hate sim racers usually, and when I tried GT didn't like it.  I might give it a shot seeing this artistic work being put into graphics.  I will say I think Ridge Racer 7 (PS3) has better looking streets than those first in-car shots, but come on...
