Easily one of the greatest games of all time.

Rooooo FFVIII was great, I love it as much as FFVII (if not better). The only thing that sucks about VIII is the magic system. The rest is amazing, especially edea and the beautifull cgi scenes.

Liberi Fatali, at FF VIII beginning, is great.

But FF VIII did fail in some parts,like Rinoa and main characthers are pretty unorginal,and story aint so big.

FFVIII was great at the beginning. Graphics, FMV, story, battles were all good... But I never finished it due to a few things...

I hated Guardian Forces for two reasons. You need to rely on them too much, which wouldn't have been terrible if you could skip past the long animation you had to watch each time you summoned them.

I got tired of the drawing magic from enemies during battle.

I agree with twesterm that the games only get better.

Hehe, trust me, if you draw the best magics, you barely ever need GFs. You have to be ready to spend over 5 hours of your life with Seifer and the Draw skill though...! >_>

Good luck on that. It may be still hard to dive into since the game looks horrible. I also have trouble with the whole atmosphere of the game, it's a bit of a turnoff - the slummy areas and the synthesized sounding music (not sure what to call it), it's... bleh. Of course, if you can put up with it the game is still great.

I just had to add, FFIX IS unplayable. Battles taking ~15sec to load is way too much for me. It may be my favorite out of the PS1 bunch too, it's unfortunate.

I loved FFVIII and then I played FFIX and I though it was pretty bad, OK, not bad, but not on par with other FFs, maybe a 7/10...
