First of all Cathode-ray tubes rule! and second of all, don't fuckin put people down because they don't have the money and/or irresponsibility to justify buying an expensive Product, and don't belittle people for not wanting to pay a shitload of extra money for functionality that should be expected in the first place!!!

CRTs usually have better pictures than any of the other types. The problem is that for a CRT to be the big sizes that LCD, Plasma, etc. get to, it would have to be ginormous.

@JaggedSac: I have a 32'' one which supports HDMI (it weighs about 50 kg). There are also 37'' ones, perhaps bigger ones as well but they are beasts as you said.

A HD CRT is wonderful for the Wii60 combo since I can play Wii at the native resolution (CRTs don't need to upscale like LCDs or Plasmas). This is the reason I chose a CRT.

This is off-topic though since CRTs are not necessarily SDTVs and vice-versa.

if it sells a few millions maybe they'll change their minds

I know just what they mean.

If there is some small text on a web page Pressing CTRL--+ is such a long and time consuming process that my web browsing would be delayed by up to 0.5 seconds.

OK, ZenfoldorVGI, what about this word-of-mouth scenario?

"The game is fun, but I can't read anything so I sometimes don't know what to do. I wish I knew what people were saying 'cause I bet it's interesting."

I have to disclaim that I haven't played B&K (never got the N64 game, don't have Gold) so I don't know how illegible the text is and how critical it is to gameplay. But it sounds like it's pretty bad.

Now the above hypothetical scenario is hardly THIS GAME IS SHIT but it's far from a ringing endorsement. I could definitely see people deciding to get some other game based on that.
What was the word of mouth for Carnival Games?

As for the game, it's comparable to Mario Brothers.

As for the "but it sounds like it's pretty bad" part, I'm sure it is if you have a SD TV. However, I'd imagine it is also over-blown. Everything, ever, on a gaming forum is. These are the people who obsess over .1 point score differences from IGN.

I'd imagine a casual or child might notice the text being small, if they play on a SD TV, but I doubt it would ruin the game for them. Like I said, this is more of a slap in the face to core SD gamers, than anything. I'd imagine those screwed over gamers would want to see justice via bad sales and reviews, but if this games gets bad sales and reviews, it will be because the game was poorly made and/or marketed, not because of a font issue...

At this point both of us are just speculating about things we don't know.  You don't have an SDTV (apparently) and I don't have a Gold sub... oh shit I just realized I can get access to the demo.  I'll let you know whether the text is just annoying or a HUGE problem tomorrow.  I have 20/15 vision and lots of experience reading text including blurry text so if I can't read it it's pretty well fucked.

On my 36" SDTV it is hard to read and blurry but readable.  I'm a fast reader and I couldn't finish many of the text boxes in cutscenes before they changed and it is due to the text being hard to read.  I am very annoyed by this.

There is some text in the game smaller than the speech text and this is unreadable.  I believe the speech text would be effectively unreadable on a 27" SDTV or smaller (not sure about 32") and this would pretty much make the game unplayable on those TVs.  Unless you're the type of guy who plays Japanese import games without understanding Japanese.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

I'm sorry, but that is actually pathetic. Rare should be ashamed as a developer.

I could read the text easily, but damn. I want voice acting!
