Over time? Sure, it probably will, just not this year.

AC will come out on top and sell 1 million atleast this year in japan, if not more

There's this country called the rest of the world. They think both games are cooler, but more of the people would rather buy Gears of War 2 right away, whereas casual gamers interested in Animal Crossing would take their sweet time in making their purchase.

Gears 2 > Fable 2 > AC > Resistance 2 > LBP

I think as a core gamer, I'll take my time in making my purchase for GoW2 or R2, however, I'm definitely picking up AC right away.

I think people are more likely to rush to Gears 2 than Animal Crossing because of the online community. I haven't ever played an Animal Crossing game so I don't think my opinion counts regarding that...

Gears 2 > Animal Crossing > Resistance 2 > Fable 2 = LBP > Wii Music

Two big games for me in the following months are definetly Res2 and LBP. But I have to agree the fan base for Animal Crossing is huge.
