Forums - Sony - Future multiplatform titles to use PS3 as lead platform?

From what I hear, it's easier to port a game from PS3 to 360 than the other way around. Even if it's true, I don't see the harm in it.

As far as just the Cell and Xenos are concerned, I look at things this way:

Let's say you have 8 small plates, each with a small cookie on top roughly the diameter of the plate.  Now let's say you decided to move these cookies onto three larger plates.  Just dump 'em on, and it roughly works out, right?

Now let's say you start off with three large cookies on three large plates.  Trying to get them to fit on the smaller plates isn't so easy, now is it.  You'll have to break the cookies up, probably losing some of each cookie due to crumbs falling onto the floor and the like, and the final result will be 8 rough, cracked, mishapen pieces of cookie that barely fit on the smaller plates.

Thats... a real smart way to put it lol...and now...i wan a cookie... :P

LOL this is just Sony's wishful thinking, they are not going to develop their games from the ground up on the most difficult system to do so, with the smallest user base. Its quicker and cheaper for them to use pc/xbox architecture, why would they do anything else?

Even if its harder to then port to the ps3, they will just make a few sacrifices, like lower res, poorer textures etc. It can take a team of hundreds to build a game from the ground up, but it only takes a handful to do a port.

The studio I work builds for the PS3 first for its PS3/360/PC game...

No, your just hating, Since i can name a handful of games/devs who would disagree with your "Opinion" one of them is the upcoming mirrors edge and it says HI! and guess what? its an EA/Dice game no less.

There are always exceptions to the rule, but look at most of the games being released on both platforms. Even with a lot of the big titles that have come out, the ps3 has got the slightly weaker version.

Mirrors Edge? someone was say here yesterday that they look the same but the ps3 has some tearing going on.

Without doubt, one of my most anticipated games of 2009.

Thanks again, Atari!
