Forums - Microsoft - XBox Live Member Game Data

Does anyone know how to grab data about XBox Live members?  Akin to what MyGamerCard does.  Is it a web service or something?

I was interested in this also.

Only 'cause my friends and I were discussing a MySpace/Facebook gaming orientated service a few months ago.

Yeah, I am thinking of making a Flex app. Did you guys figure anything out? There has to be some way of doing it, I just hope it does not involve getting in touch with M$.

No, we didn't, it was really just a passing idea. Incorporating Steam/Live and WoW things together. The PSN didn't have trophies at the time, so we didn't even think about it.

If I find anything out, though (I've been googling for the past few mins) I'll post it here.

btw - You've got a Zune, lucky git.

It seems that MyGamerCard worked directly with Microsoft. I've only just noticed that "An official Microsoft community developer" label on the website.

Ah, that could be bad news for me.

Wait, I think I've found something.

I've just skimmed over it, though, so it may not be right. I'll read it properly now.

A quick search on MSDN lead me to this:

http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1153325&SiteID=1

In which the user says that you need to be a registered Xbox dev, but in that same post he/she links to this:

http://www.xboxusersgroup.com/content/view/3247/217/

Which is hanging when trying to connect to the server on my end, but my internet's been dodgey all night.

EDIT: It appears that second link is pretty much worthless.

Mine wouldn't load it either.  But the guy's next post was this:

"Ok thanks, that is what I thought.  So there is no way to access the feed directly and it seems the developer program is now closed."

Well, I guess I need to come up with something else to do.

How about a system similar to xfire/steam that is completly accessible and functional from the user's webbrowser, rather than having to install an app on their system?

That's pretty much what we were going to do, with more focus on the community side of things.
