Forums - Microsoft - Boku (Nor was never meant to be) LBP

This tool is not even a game... it's a tool... the possibility to make a game is there... I can't wait till I can see what Damian (my ex's son) can do with this with his giant imagination.

Around the Network

This is years away from being a completed product. Microsoft Research does stuff as a "Proof of Concept" typically. The whole point of this is simply to show that a game can be used to teach programming ideas.

Later MSR may hand it off to a product group and then they will make it into a real game if it ever gets to that point. Right now, it is just an MSR researcher doing research.

agree with the exception of 1 thing. Little big planet only had 25 working on it :p

Typical AAA projects are much larger...  But the point is still there.  5 vs. 25 is a five fold resourcing difference.  If you just take a linear scale this project will take 15 years before they build something of LBP quality.  The truth of the matter is that they simply aren't building a LBP clone and the resourcing shows they are not trying to.

LOL that made my day... 9 years old.... I wasn't that far with LBP design by 5 years old :D... and being a concept mouarf... I love me self
