When it comes to the "Pre-3D Era"

(Super Nintendo, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, Amiga, Atari, Commodore, Nes, DOS and hanging out in the Arcades)

Do you feel like you've missed out on something special?

I.E. Gameplay wise, Videogaming Community, or something entirely else?

Around the Network

Nah I can still get some of those games.

I don't really feel like I've missed out. 3D just adds a whole other plane when it comes to gameplay, and games that do better in 2D can still be made in 2D. And videogaming subculture, hell, I'd do my best to keep out of that comic-book-guy life.

I would say that VC, XBLA and PSN sort of destroy the feeling of missing out, since basically the very best of that era is available on there. EXCEPT for the rarer games, in which case it's not a big loss, seeing as how they are rare because most people didn't get a chance to play them when they were in that era anyway.
