*takes out Patented Chance-O-Meter*
It reads OU 7734.....What the heck? Oh! It was upside down!!
It says "Hell No!" The Chanceometer is never wrong.
Probably no chance at all. As it stands, Blu Ray has already been made obsolete by Panasonic, having created a tech that reads several layers on a disc. Apparently they can store up to 300 GB of data as opposed to 50 GB or whatever the max for Blu Ray is. Plus, there's the chance that by next gen, we might see the advent of consoles that are digital distribution based.
I'm curious as to whether half of you guys read the whole thread or just the first post before commenting.
Not only has the question been answered but their next format is already known to some degree. Just go back and actually read the posts.
The rEVOLution is not being televised
Viper1 said: No chance. Nintendo recently co-wrote a patent with InPhase with regards to their Holographic optical media and mass storage solutions. They also plan to invest heavily in their R&D. http://blog.tmcnet.com/blog/tom-keating/video-hardware-software/nintendo-goes-holographic-wow-wii.asp |
So the translation is that there will be a new console by InPhase, as after all, its this same process that brought Sony to the market lol
Maybe they'll sell games through system like steam and use SSD to store them.
