Just thought it was interesting.
Obama:
"The pastor of my church, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who recently preached his last sermon and is in the process of retiring, has touched off a firestorm over the last few days. He's drawn attention as the result of some inflammatory and appalling remarks he made about our country, our politics, and my political opponents.
"Let me say at the outset that I vehemently disagree and strongly condemn the statements that have been the subject of this controversy. I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies. I also believe that words that degrade individuals have no place in our public dialogue, whether it's on the campaign stump or in the pulpit. In sum, I reject outright the statements by Rev. Wright that are at issue.
"Because these particular statements by Rev. Wright are so contrary to my own life and beliefs, a number of people have legitimately raised questions about the nature of my relationship with Rev. Wright and my membership in the church. Let me therefore provide some context.
"As I have written about in my books, I first joined Trinity United Church of Christ nearly twenty years ago. I knew Rev. Wright as someone who served this nation with honor as a United States Marine, as a respected biblical scholar, and as someone who taught or lectured at seminaries across the country, from Union Theological Seminary to the University of Chicago. He also led a diverse congregation that was and still is a pillar of the South Side and the entire city of Chicago. It's a congregation that does not merely preach social justice but acts it out each day, through ministries ranging from housing the homeless to reaching out to those with HIV/AIDS.
"Most importantly, Rev. Wright preached the gospel of Jesus, a gospel on which I base my life. In other words, he has never been my political advisor; he's been my pastor. And the sermons I heard him preach always related to our obligation to love God and one another, to work on behalf of the poor, and to seek justice at every turn.
"The statements that Rev. Wright made that are the cause of this controversy were not statements I personally heard him preach while I sat in the pews of Trinity or heard him utter in private conversation. When these statements first came to my attention, it was at the beginning of my presidential campaign. I made it clear at the time that I strongly condemned his comments. But because Rev. Wright was on the verge of retirement, and because of my strong links to the Trinity faith community, where I married my wife and where my daughters were baptized, I did not think it appropriate to leave the church.
"Let me repeat what I've said earlier. All of the statements that have been the subject of controversy are ones that I vehemently condemn. They in no way reflect my attitudes and directly contradict my profound love for this country.
"With Rev. Wright's retirement and the ascension of my new pastor, Rev. Otis Moss, III, Michelle and I look forward to continuing a relationship with a church that has done so much good. (Steven787: He has since quit the church, because Otis Moss, III, didn't work out too well for the campaign) And while Rev. Wright's statements have pained and angered me, I believe that Americans will judge me not on the basis of what someone else said, but on the basis of who I am and what I believe in; on my values, judgment and experience to be President of the United States."

Thanks for breaking this news Coca-Cola.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
Who's Reverend Wright? Is he one of Obama's economic advisors?
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
Reverend Wright is the guy Obama is planning to make Secratary of State, the motto of the office is going to be changed to "God Damn America".
Then Obama's going to let thems gays in the military and let them marry. Once that is implimented, he is going to personally make sure that every teen experiments with homosexuality at least once.
This obviously shows that Obama and Wright hate America because no one who loves America would ever say anything bad about it.

I thought Ayers was going to be secretary of state, or is he secretary of defense?

"Barry is going to make Ayers the Secratary [sic] of Defense because he can think like a terrorist."

Better than Joe the Plumber as Secretary of State and G. Gordon Liddy as Secretary of Defense.

It's still interesting. never seen the video before.
you guys dont get it. It is not JUST reverend white or Ayers. If it was one of these people in an isolated occurance it would not get all the attention. The problem most people who are not blinding themselves are seeing is the PATTERN. It just seems like one radical association after another with BO. Did you hear about the banquet or whatever Obama was at in 2001? ya the LA Times is refusing to release, hiding something are we?

Maybe you don't get it, but the radicals that Obama pals around with represent a large portion of the populations feelings. Just like the racist overtones of the McCain campaign represent a another large portion of the population.
What I'm really happy about, is that in this election we're airing it all out, getting it all out on the table.
I'd rather be with war protesters and civil rights activists that speak tough or act for life and human dignity than a racist, bigoted, small minded, fear guided, ignorant, war mongoring dirt bag who loves this country or secessionist who wants independence for the same reasons.
I'd rather vote for a socialist who's earned his own fortune, than a fascist who inherits a job and marries into wealth. Obama can speak from real world experience. McCain's life is a series of fuck ups, luck, and favortism.
I posted 4 polls the other day, showing that over 60% of the country have wanted socialized medicine for the past 40 years.
I posted a 66% of the country wants out of Iraq.
I posted a poll of likely voters making over $250k/year where 61% are supporting Obama.
54% of Americans support stricter gun controls. 86% of Americans like the waiting period on guns. 79% support registration. 58% feel that controling gun ownership is more important than the 2nd ammendment.
86% of American support some form of abortion, 53% consider themselves pro-choice.
13% Americans ADMIT to being racist. Seriously. On the phone, to a pollster.
Those people who make over 250k (including wages and investment), represent 44% of all income but 33% of all tax revenue. Because almost anyone who makes over 250k makes it from investments, not wages.
The republicans find themselves on the wrong side of almost every issue. They win votes by suppression, racist fear, and distributive tactics in representation. The fact of the matter is, that if the constitution didn't guarantee atleast 3 electoral votes per state or if the electoral college (or house) was distributed evenly among the population, the republicans would have very few seats and wouldn't have seen the white house in the past 40 years. (Except, maybe Reagan)
