Sony's got bigger plans for the PS3. Its all about the Blu-ray. They believe future Blu-ray profits will far surpass the cost of the PS3 for them.

The 60Gb PS3 will be phased out by the end of this year or early next year, the 80Gb PS3 will be the standard model and IMHO will come down to $399 by May/June 2008.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)
