Forums - Gaming - The Wii third party game explosion has begun!

Just a quick question: The fact that they are bringing games, albeit not necessarily original ones, to the Wii means they aren't flocking to it? Cash grabs and shovel ware don't mean flocking?

Isn't that a quality argument that got people angry oh 10 posts ago or so? Also, a horrible semantic argument that's not really worth getting into yet I bring up because it's the internet, and aside from porn, it's what it's for?

MP3 and torrents?

and of course, every single PS3 and Xbox360 game is going to be perfect.

All consoles will get garbage. If you look at the numbers of "proven franchises" coming out, what do you see? Wii has the biggest number (As Bodhesvata pointed out).

I don't understand why everyone is fighting here. This list is talking about exclusive games. Clearly, the Wii has the most. It's as simple as that. If you don't like the metrics used, then make your own bloody list. Until you do that, shut up and just accept the fact that Wii has more exclusives than any other current gen console right now, and that they added a metric arseload during E3.

That's the facts. No need to put yourself into "defend the PS3" mode. We all know that the list of games that are on both the 360 and PS3 is large. THAT IS NOT THE POINT.

The question is simple, as a Wii owner do you prefer Ninja Bread Man as an exclusive or Resident Evil 5 as a multiplatform game that also comes out on Wii?

Hahahah that's funny!!!

HERE! let me play too!!

If you were a PS3 owner, would you prefer Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire or Super Mario Galaxy?

hahahahahahaha!!!!

QFT.

The PS2 has a library full of crap games. It also has some of the best games. In the end, sheer weight of numbers wins out.

Argue all you want - but the facts are that 3rd-parties are flocking to the Wii.

Everyone - feel free to create a thread nuking the Wii for a lack of "quality" games.

The huge library of crap PS2 games could be overlooked because the majority good 3rd party games were on the PS2. This is not the case with the Wii yet. And until that happens the Wii has crappy 3rd party support in my book, I don't care how many Carnival Games and Ninja Bread Men you stack up to make an argument against this.

A majority of the big 3rd party franchises are going to 360 and PS3 and not the Wi. GTA, RE, DMC, SC, Tekken, FF, MGS among many many of the best and best selling 3rd party games are going to the other two consoles.

Can you really claim the Wii is getting the best 3rd party support when you are completely leaving out most of the biggest 3rd party franchises in existance?

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

How is that even the same? Is there a chance of Mario Galaxy going somewhere other than the Nintendo console? No.

Edit: I'm sure you loved it last gen when the only quality games you got were from Nintendo itself, this generation so far you've gotten the same Nintendo games from the gamecube plus mini game collections. Sounds great doesn't it?

I dunno - maybe you should ask Avalach21.

I think it's funny because while I understand your point, I also understand his - poor example and all. I'd actually come with an example, but then it would change the whole point of the sig, you dig?

Edit: I guess that's why ioi added you as a mod - to balance the three consoles to the number of fans for each console...

I completely avoided the Gamecube so I have no idea what games Nintendo had last generation, let alone quality games; I also fail to understand your comment about whether I "loved it last gen when the only quality games I got were from Nintendo". I didn't buy one single Nintendo game from the last generation. I didn't own the console either.

And what is wrong with mini-game collections? Some people like them. You obviously don't. That doesn't make your opinion in any way superior to any one else's. And yes, so far it's been great - I get my "hardcore by ckmlb's standards" gaming with my PC and my "mini game collection sounds like great fun doesn't it" gaming with my Wii. When/if the time comes to buy a PS3 and/or a 360 I'll do so as well.

You have no idea what I did for my gaming pleasures last generation, so please refrain from placing words in my mouth. And stop being so overprotective of what amounts to nothing more that a bunch of plastic and silicon. It's not like I'm attacking your family or anything remotely similar - or am I?

ckmlb is on a killing spree

I think most gamers are kinda promiscuous, they don't care who gives them the good games... well, I like to think that. They just want the experience.

See Ya George.

"He did not die - He passed Away"

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.

125 posts later people are still missing the point.  Nobody is saying the games are great.

Ontopic: The sheer quantity of games is a sign that developers f'd up, they now realize that they were backing the wrong horse.

A metafor, I tried to write it in haiku form but I couldn't word it too precisely.

Publishing for DS has been like sharing space in one of those money blowing phone booths.  The Innovative Developers eith climb on top of the slow developers and catch the money coming out of the chute or are too small to compete, stay at the bottom and pick up the money that falls to the ground.

EA and Ubisoft are going to be at the top, as they have been ahead of the curve as far as QUANTITY of average to good Wii titles.  D3 and Conspiracy are at the bottom picking up the left overs.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

This must be wrong ,last week there were at last 5 exclusive games announced for the PS3 ;Valkyrie of the Battlefield ,Tears of Tiara ,Nob Nob Boy ,Disgaea 3 and Blue 24 .

That link is making its numbers up .The PS3 is just receiving more games announced that the Wii .The Wii just cant handle the multiplattform games so it has to ge pointless side games and minigames .I am being a bit harsh ,but thats what it is .

According to my calculations there are

155 Ps3 minus 360
230 PS3 minus wii

241 360 minus Ps3
304 360 minus wii

284 Wii minus 360
296 Wii minus Ps3

279 Wii Exclusives
224 360 Exclusives
150 Ps3 Exclusives

My conclusions are based on the lists from wikipedia imported into mysql and then queries run
