This is exactly how I feel.  The Darkness may have a 82 Metacritic score, but the demo was so lame I couldn't even spend $5 on it, even though I spent $5 on freakin Space Giraffe. 

What would be the point when I would never play it over all the superior games, especially now that all the awsome fall 08 games are starting to come out.

I can only say the demo is not good. When I played the demo I was not really warm for it aswell but I bought it when I found it for 15$ and I was quite surprised how fun it is. The game has some flaws but I can tell ya their were moments that I really was in love with this game. The emotional music, the darkness powers, the humour of the creatures and the characters were all things that made me realy enjoy this game;
