Forums - Gaming - Why don't we have more CGI movies release alongside the actual game?

With games getting more cutscenes and bordering cgi movies in length, why don't developers work on the actual cgi movies to go with the game's release.

That will surely promote sales.

Something like the FF CGI movie we had some years back.

They could also make some hidden tricks that reveal in the movie, such as a hidden door.

Around the Network

That FF CGI movie you are talking about bombed at box office and nearly made Squaresoft(as they were known as at the time) bankrupt. That's one of the main reasons why Squaresoft and Enix had to merge

That was because that FF movie was poorly executed? Bad timing and all that.

They should've made the FF movie actually have something to do with FF.  It might have been a big hit.

I haven't seen a CGI cutscene since I played Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Everythin is done in real-tmie now. No more movie mode :(
