No it is an anti socialism thread.

Is Adam Smith a socialist?  Adam Smith said that the wealthy should pay a larger proportion of taxes than the poor, he even seperates taxes into those on the necessary (poor) and those on the luxury (rich).

The rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion. - Adam Smith

If Barrack Obama is a socialist, then so is Adam Smith.

Adam smith also believed that government should only be in existence to protect the people. Obama is also for huge government intervention and spending. Remember, Adam Smith invented Laisse Faire Capitalism.

Besides this thread is not about Obama as much as it is socialism. Then it again I do see how it is hard for people to seperate the 2.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

I hope this isn't an anti-Obama thread. I have a feeling it is, since there's no reason for this to go in Off Topic.

Me? You know me better than that...

No it is an anti socialism thread. Now if you want to say it is anti Obama you would have to tie him to socialism. I am not going to do that in this thread however. I think people can decide if they think he is a socialist.

Well I assumed it was anti-Obama since I'm sure you've called Obama a socialist before (it's on the list of anti-Obama cliches, after all). And I don't get the Midway analogy. Are you implying that they don't deserve money because their games are crappy, or because no one deserves Nintendo's money? Is Nintendo the government of the videogame industry? Are employees of Midway being laid off and forced to live in the streets? Are Midway employees unable to pay their mortgages because Nintendo decided that they should only be paid minimum wage?

The analogy is confusing, I must say.

No Nintendo is the really rich guy. Midway is the guy with no talent that is going broke because he can't do anything well. Midways is the guy who thinks he is owed something from Nintendo just because Nintendo is successful. It is really not that confusing.

The point is if we take Nintendo's money away because they are making too much they eventually are going to stop innovating becuase making more money gets them no where... Midway is still going to suck... Just think.... Nintendo would stick with the status quo and we would continue to get WiiMusic 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5,6 and forever!!!! Ok that is a doomsday scenario...
