there is a hole in your argument, guitar hero world tour, and rock band too include more intruments, and they were tested by pro in the music business travis from blink 182, they were made to simulate real drums, not being them, but waggle to make a sound it not closer than guitar hero or rock band are.

and also both game have some archivement into it, hell a score , wii music doens't have that, you pick a instrument and waggle that its.

how amazing its that? nothing impressive at all.

They were made to simulate the instruments, not the music. There's a difference. Unless hitting on the drums makes extra sounds (not sure), the music is seperate.

Do you play instruments? When I used to play violin, I don't recall being scored when I was satisfied with a song. It didn't require anyone "scoring" me to get satisfaction out of it, just myself recognizing it sounded good.

thats another thing in wii music you don't either, you waggle and the program make a sound not accurate either.

That's not entirely true from what I have seen ...

The Wiimote motions may not be designed in such a way that they can fully replicate the sounds produced by an instrument, they do appear to be able to reliably produce the same impact on the sound produced. Now, you may have a problem with this but I don't see how this is any different from playing a toy-guitar that only has 4 buttons and claiming that it replicates playing the real insturment.

But see, HappySqurriel, there lies the problem. Guitar Hero accurately replicates playing the real instrument, because its toy-guitar has five buttons.

Pixel Art can be fun.

who are they trying to fool with this interview... THIS GAME SUCKS and nothing will change that

if you really want to feel the music just buy an instrument, if not play guitar hero or rock band, but this piece of crap...

Its like deaj vu all over again. Same argument people made about wii sports and wiifit.

There are all kinds of reasons a person might want to play a simulation instead of doing the real thing.  And there are even more reasons a person might prefer this type of sim to the ones that exist already.

For me I would like something that feels more real than old fashion button mashing, but don't care to spend the time, effort or money to actually bowl/golf/box/workout/learn an instrument.

wii fit didnt bother me, wii music doesnt bother me. i dont see what the problem is

I'm confused. Does that make this, the RB guitar with 10 buttons:

... more than the real instrument? Hrmm...

That was a good interview. Then again, all Iwata Asks are good interviews.
