In reality, there is a time where money stops being "useful" for well being, but the level is much lower then you would think... and basically where in a system i would perfer. Everyone would be at in the first place.
Once you get everyone to that level as taken care of... there is no need for a flat tax.
In the current reality though I am for a progressive tax.
However I think the current reality should change.

One thing that's been interesting me for a while is that you are so critical of socialism, but the government providing of basic needs strikes me as a pretty socialist concept. But I haven't examined the topic ideologically.
What are your thoughts on this?

I can change that?
I'm not really against socialsm.
I'm against needless socialism.
I think the well being of people should be taken care of first.
With our current system i'd rather have a progressive tax that provided universal healthcare then a flat tax that provided no healthcare.
Once everyone gets past the "poverty line" and has all their needs taken care of though i beleive it should be "every man for themselves."

The healthcare? I'd model it off the VA system. It's ranks one of the best and one of the cheapest in the country.

Nope, that's not what I'm asking. It seemed to me you said you would have one and "then" the other.
